Italian Classes
Adult Conversation Classes: Italian classes, sponsored by ICHF, have been very popular over the last several years. Currently, adult Italian Conversation Classes are the only classes being held. There is more information under Calendario on this website.

Elementary School Classes: Stefania Katera, a native Italian, teaches beginning Italian to students in first through 6th grades at Peabody School. The program, begun in Fall, 2004, has been very popular with the children there. ICHF sponsors the classes.

Scholarship & Awards Programs
SBCC Scholarship Awards: Since 2001, scholarships have been awarded to SBCC students going to Italy in the Students Abroad program. The students compete by submitting an essay upon a subject selected annually by the ICHF Board of directors.

UCSB Award program: A program to honor outstanding Italian study students at UCSB has been in operation for several years.

Cultural Events
Cinema Italiano: Since 2003, ICHF has sponsored an Italian Film Festival each fall. The film festival runs 3 days and presents 4 - 5 films. In 2006, the festival began a new format and runs one film each weekend for 3 consecutive weekends.
Concerts:Several musical evenings with local Italian musicians have been presented. Others will be presented when opportunities arise.
I-Madonnari: ICHF has participated with UNICO in sponsoring a square at the local I Madonnari Festival held each Memorial Day at the old Mission. The festival benefits the Children's Creative Project, a non-profit arts education program for elementary and secondary students.
